Moving from ThemeForest to Lemon Squeezy
After many years on ThemeForest, I’ve decided to gradually move RoseaThemes products to my own store powered by Lemon Squeezy.
Why I’m moving away from ThemeForest
The main reason is recent marketplace commission changes.
Starting in July 2026, marketplace fees will significantly increase, making it harder to sustainably maintain and improve products long-term.
The biggest issue is the new commission structure, which will take 50% of each sale.
For independent creators and small product studios, this creates a difficult situation:
- less revenue goes into development
- less time can be invested into updates and support
- long-term sustainability becomes harder
- product quality and future growth are affected
Instead of continuing to rely entirely on third-party marketplaces, I want to build a more direct and sustainable relationship with customers.
Moving to Lemon Squeezy allows me to:
- improve support quality
- release updates faster
- build better documentation and resources
- maintain more sustainable pricing
- invest more time into Moodle and IOMAD development
What happens to existing ThemeForest customers?
Nothing changes for your current purchase.
Your purchase remains valid
- you can continue using the theme
- your license remains valid
- existing downloads remain available
- currently supported versions will still receive maintenance updates on ThemeForest
If you already purchased a theme on ThemeForest:
Your purchase is still respected and supported.
What changes going forward?
Starting with future major releases, new versions and new products will be released only through the official RoseaThemes store.
Official store becomes the primary release channel
This means:
- new theme generations
- major redesigns
- new premium features
- new licensing systems
- future product expansions
…will be available exclusively through the official store.
ThemeForest versions will continue receiving limited maintenance updates for currently supported Moodle versions, but future development will happen independently.
Why licensing is changing
For the past 8 years, I’ve provided all updates and major improvements free of charge under a very simple licensing model.
As RoseaThemes products have grown, maintaining modern Moodle themes now requires significantly more ongoing work - including compatibility updates, accessibility improvements, testing, documentation, support, and long-term maintenance.
Since I independently design, develop, maintain, document, and support all RoseaThemes products myself, I need to make the business model more sustainable in order to continue delivering high-quality work long-term.
That’s why RoseaThemes is moving to a new professional licensing structure with four license tiers.

The goal of this change is simple: to ensure I can continue actively developing and improving RoseaThemes products for many years to come while maintaining the level of quality, support, and long-term reliability customers expect.
Why this is better long-term
Running an independent store gives much more flexibility and allows RoseaThemes to improve the overall customer experience.
Long-term experience improves for all customers
This includes:
- faster updates
- better documentation
- clearer support policies
- direct customer communication
- more sustainable product development
Most importantly, it allows more time and resources to be invested directly into the products themselves instead of marketplace overhead.
A note to existing customers
I genuinely appreciate everyone who supported RoseaThemes through ThemeForest over the years.
Your support made it possible to continue improving Moodle themes, build new products, and grow the project into what it is today.
This transition is not about abandoning existing customers.
It’s about creating a healthier and more sustainable future for the products and the community around them.
Moving forward
The official RoseaThemes store will now become the primary place for:
- new releases
- major updates
- licensing
- documentation
- support resources
- future product development
